Self Isolation Catch Up

Good Afternoon! Wow, it's been quite some time since I last posted on here. Since job applications have taken a priority, the blog has been sitting on the back burner. I just wanted to come on here and give you guys a quick update on where I've been and what is happening. Firstly, Covid 19 is a thing now. I am in self-isolation as I live with my old grandmother and both of my parents have asthma. It is quite isolating to be indoors all day but you get used to it and find new ways to entertain you and pass the time. Since I am somewhat introverted, I do enjoy the quiet isolation from the busy world but even I am finding the quiet a little hard to handle. I am still unemployed so I am using this time to improve my CV and cover letters. I am also working on my fitness which bizarrely is helping me find this whole experience more tolerable. I also spent the last couple of days learning about dissociative identity disorder (DID). Anthony Padilla did an interview with people wi...

Sexual Abuse and Violence Awareness Week, Sending Applications and Seeing Friends [Weekly Catchup 4]

Afternoon everyone, This week has gone incredibly fast. I think February is whizzing past at a much more faster pace than January did. The weather in London is stunning at the moment. The sun occasionally peeks through the clouds in the morning. The somewhat chill is also quite enjoyable. The transition phase between winter and spring is my favourite thing. With climate change, it's almost obvious that the 'transition' isn't so stark as winter is becoming shorter and summer is getting longer and hotter. The longer summer is enjoyable but it is so alarming. Towards the end of the week, however, we had a loud storm that lasted through the weekend. It's lovely to just watch the rain from the comfort of my home but I cannot imagine how inconvenient it probably is.  On Monday, I worked on my story and did some location maps. I drew on some rough paper what I wanted my fictional town to look like and what kind of facilities I wanted the town to have. I already had...

The Flu and the NHS [Weekly Catch up 3]

Afternoon everyone! Hope this week went wonderful for you! How did it go, did you get up to anything interesting? So this week consisted of me catching a fever from my dad which then progressed into the flu. I lost my voice in the process. Losing my voice has made me realise just how much I take advantage of my vocal cords. The simple fact of not being able to answer questions or ask for something was excruciating. On the flip side, it was also incredibly gratifying. Silence is magical sometimes. Especially when you are going through a transition period or having conflict within your relationships, silence can be a blessing in disguise. This week was a blessing in disguise. While I couldn't really tick off any tasks and couldn't socialise much, it was relaxing. It felt akin to a dopamine fast. It was like hitting the reset button and starting again. Another topic I wanted to discuss is the NHS. I adore and love the NHS. I am not quite sure where I will be if it wasn...

Body Image and Productivity Struggles [Weekly Catch Up 2]

Afternoon everyone! Hope you all had a lovely week. The second week of 2020, how did it go for you? This week has been somewhat a haphazard mess. I could only describe it as an overflowing laundry basket. It was a struggle. But maybe there is are learning points that can be concluded from the problems that I was facing the past week. Firstly my productivity was incredibly off this week. I was not meeting my goals and every task took my entire life force. Fatigue kept setting in and my sleep schedule is still way off. I wake up at 10 to 12 every day and sleep around 2. The amount of sleep I get works against me. I am constantly trying not to be so exhausted but the hard truth is I always am. The more you sleep, the more tired you tend to get but lack of sleep can also make you tired and impair your judgement and actions. It's a hard balance to figure through. My learning point regarding sleep was that I am actually a morning person when I want to be productive but I am a nig...

Start of Something New [Weekly Catch Up 1]

Afternoon everyone! Welcome back to my blog! I hope the first week of 2020 has treated you well. How did you spend the new years? Did you make any new year resolutions? Since I am out of school, I have been seeing friends and getting more fresh air. I've also been working on the novel that I planned during the last couple of months of 2019. I attempted to write it as a nanowrimo but I decided that I wanted to work more slowly to make sure that the story is absolutely perfect. I am so connected to these characters and the story that it felt like an injustice to simply rush through it. On new years eve, I went for food with a friend to Busaba. We had nice vegetarian wok-fried noodles. Busaba was so amazing. The food was so flavoursome and the restaurant had such a good atmosphere. On new years day, I met up with some friends on new years day at Old Dutch at Holborn. We planned to walk back home but we were all too full of pancakes to walk the entire way.  Finally, ...
