Supplies for Law School

Afternoon everyone!

Hope you are all doing well during this gloomy afternoon. Perfect weather for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

This post will list all the things you could need when you start law school. These are things I found to be essentials for productivity and organisation at university.

1) A working laptop. I cannot stress how important a laptop is. Your university will often require you to access things online and complete work on a computer. It is so important to have a laptop. It doesn't have to be the best one or the trendiest one but just one that does its job.

2) Notebooks or A4 lined paper if you like making notes with a pen and paper. If you like to type up your notes instead, you do not need this. I did a mixture of the two when I was studying at university and I prefered the notebooks method as I felt I was more engaged with the information I was writing down but it is absolutely up to you.

3) Planner. This will help you organise your time and allow you to plan things more effectively. I used a diary from Paperchase for my first year of university and then graduated to a bullet journal. Bullet journaling is my favourite method as I enjoy the customisation and the flexibility however it absolute up to you on what things you need to keep track of and how your days and your life looks like to decide.

4) Pens and pencil case. Despite having a laptop, I always carried a pen because our attendance was done on paper and we had to sign under our name and student number. Sometimes my laptop would not cooperate with me so it was useful to have a pen with me to make notes. It acts as an effective backup in case something happens.

5) Highlighters. This is essential as your tutor might reference a particular statute or directive which you might need to know for your exam. During our exams, we were allowed to take a highlighted statute book to refer back to so annotating during class was really helpful during exam season.

6) Sticky tabs. You can mark important textbooks and statutes. This will be so important for during exam season so you will not need to waste valuable revision time marking up and tabbing things.

7) Big bag. You might need to carry lots of statute books and textbooks so its useful to have a lot of room.

8) Folders of various sizes. This will help keep all your material organised and accessible. It will be essential when you reach the exam season as you can easily find and refer back to the information without doing a hunt for in a pile of loose paper.

There is no need for the most expensive stationery or folders to do well. You just need things that will make life easier for you. Find a system of organisation that works for you and stick with it. Hope this post was helpful. I will see you in my next post!

Sincerely Sinthu x

How I Reflect

Afternoon, everyone! So in today's post, I will be discussing my favourite way of reflecting. It goes without saying that there are so many different ways of reflecting and none of them is good or bad. Everyone has their own way of reflecting. This is the way that works well for me. It's always worth giving new techniques a go to better yourself and your lifestyle. In order to do this method, you need a plain paper and a pen. That's it. 1) You have to draw a grid. Now, this grid can be however big or small you'd like it to be. It can include whatever categories you feel is relevant for your life. My categories are usually health and fitness, career, relationships and myself. You can have as many or as little categories but 4 is a good number. By separating your life into compartments in this way, it will help you really analyse the different areas of life. 2) Once you have the basic structure, you can add two different subheadings under each section. Under you...

Optimism During These Pessimistic Times

Good Afternoon, Everyone! This post is going to be a heavy one because it's all about mental health during this period where everything is actually falling apart. That's a lie: not everything is falling apart but it really feels that way. While the reminder that we are in a first-world country where we are in a far more privileged position than others is sobering, it doesn't negate the fact that a lot of us are probably struggling. Watching the news or speaking to people is just a constant reminder of what is happening in the world. Some of us have decided to panic and buy all the toilet paper and hand sanitiser. Yet again, we will not do well in a zombie apocalypse. But we have to stop and take a step back before we fall back into old habits. These are hard times for all of us and we have got to recognise that. We cannot ignore the fact that there are people dying all the time and the numbers are only growing every day. However, we have to also realise that there is no...
